Are you planning a vacation in South Korea and want to spend a few days in Seoul? If you are planning for a longer itinerary with Seoul as your starting point, you should definitely choose to stay at one of the hotels near Seoul Station.
You will not only be close to many of the most important things to do in Seoul, but you will also have perfect access to public transportation.
The Train Station is perfectly linked to Incheon International Airport, but it is also located in the middle of the city.
If that sounds good and I have convinced you, here are some of our favorite hotels to take into consideration.

Where to stay: hotels near Seoul Station
Staying near the train station doesn’t necessarily mean you will be far from most attractions, on the contrary. Namdaemun Market is within walking distance, and Myeongdong area is as well.
Unlike in many cities around the world, staying close to the train station won’t place in a creepy area. Seoul is one of the safest cities in the world, and you shouldn’t worry about public safety.
On the other hand, staying close to Seoul Station won’t mean you should expect lower prices for accommodation. This is a central area and prices will probably be comparable to many other important places to stay in.
Here are some of the best hotels you should choose for your Seoul vacation.
Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Namdaemun

The hotel I stayed in on my first visit to Seoul. This was the best place to stay in Seoul for a first-timer because we had everything we needed and more.
They gave us complimentary face masks upon arrival, and we even had a view over the Namsan Tower and the Sungnyemun Gate.
Back in the winter of 2019 the hotel was new and was really comfortable. From our room we saw the Namsan Tower, they have a cafe on the ground floor and a nice bar with good finger food for your evenings.
Their breakfast was a bit too Asian for my taste at the moment, but they had a lot of types of food and dishes to choose from. Now, after 3 years of living in Asia, I think it would be ok, but at the moment we preferred the small cafe with croissants and muffins.
The hotel is maybe a 10-minute walk from Seoul Station and very close to the subway and Namdaemun Market.
Millennium Hilton Seoul

Hard to miss, this imposing hotel is within walking distance from Seoul Station and on your way to Namsan Park and Namsan Tower.
It is one of the most popular and appreciated hotels in Seoul, mainly because of its name and amenities, but also because of its location.
Throughout time, I’ve heard many tourists choose to stay at this hotel which features one of the nicest views in Seoul, along with an incredible indoor SPA.
Many guests have also appreciated the buffet breakfast, the bus service from the airport to the hotel, and its proximity to subway and bus stops.
Rooms have a classic interior design but you will be close to Seullo, Seoul Station, Namdamun Market, Namsan Park, and Myeongdong.
After a full day on the streets of the city, guests can enjoy a few hours at the hotel’s SPA with a traditional Korean massage, a swimming session in the indoor pool, or a golf session.
Four Points by Sheraton Josun
Another great hotel near Seoul Station, this hotel is hosted inside a modern building, with an underground passage directly to the train station. You simply cannot get a closer location than that.
From the front of the hotel, you can take tens of buses or the subway, and you can also walk to most of Seoul’s main tourist attractions.
If you are not impressed by the hotel’s dining options, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from in the area.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay when you want to take KTX early the next morning and want to be close to the train station.
Tmark Grand Hotel Myeongdong

While it is true that this hotel is not exactly across the street from Seoul Station, you can get there on foot or by subway (one very short stop).
Choose to stay here and you will be in the middle of a shopping area, packed with local restaurants and public transportation options to anywhere you want to go.
Namsan Park is also 5 minutes away, as well as the bustling area of Myeongdong. The view from the hotel’s bar and restaurant is stunning, and some of the rooms have Namsan Tower views as well.
A buffet breakfast is served daily, and the hotel boasts a great indoor pool where you can relax at the end of the day.
Guests loved how comfortable, clean, and modern rooms are, but also the hotel’s ideal location.
The hotel is linked to Seoul Station by Seoullo – a nice pedestrian walkway that makes it extremely accessible.
Fraser Place Central Seoul

Another hotel option is conveniently located close to Seoul Station. Set in between Seodemun subway station and Seoul Station, you will be 10 minutes away from your train.
Many guests have appreciated the services provided by the hotel’s staff, but also the hotel’s facilities such as the swimming pool and the traditional sauna.
Rooms were considered spacious and comfortable, offering all the amenities guests might need.
It is worth knowing that all rooms at this hotel come equipped with a kitchenette and a washer/dryer machine, thus it is a great choice for when you plan to spend more time in Seoul.
L’Escape Hotel

A vintage-looking hotel set one subway stop away from Seoul Station, close to Namdaemun Market.
Choose to stay here when you want a room with a unique interior design, but also if you want to have plenty of restaurants to choose from.
Some rooms have a bathtub, and guests have chosen this hotel as a destination for special occasions such as a honeymoon or anniversary.
Aloft Seoul Myeongdong

A nice and modern hotel part of a popular hospitability chain. While it is true that you will have a bit of a walk to Seoul Station, getting there by bus couldn’t be easier.
The hotel is set at one of the main crossroads that will take you to the Myeongdong shopping area, Namdaeumun Market, the City Hall, and the old part of the city.
Since you will be minutes away from Myeongdong, that means that you will have tens of street food places and fancy restaurants to choose from.
